Exciting Activities To Get Your Heart Pumping
With today being World Heart Day we thought we’d bring you some of the most exciting activities that will definitely get the old ticker pumping to the max. These adventurous activities are not everyone’s idea of a nice day out but the adrenaline junkies amongst you are going to like them a lot. If you fancy trying any of these out contact your Lifestyle Manager to help get it booked.
This has got to be one of the most extreme things you can do – leaping off a bridge/building/cliff with just a parachute on your back and – we would imagine – your stomach in your mouth. If you’re up for it then the guys at TandamBASE will be delighted to help you scare yourself stupid.
So you’re in a nice aeroplane taking in the views and then for no good reason you leap out of the cockpit and begin an unchecked descent towards the rapidly approaching and very solid ground. Whilst your senses are assaulted by this craziness you need to remember to open your parachute. This is truly the stuff of nightmares.

Ok, more throwing yourself at the ground from a great height – only this time with a glorified elastic band wrapped around your ankles. Plummet hundreds of feet before nearly losing your eyeballs as the elastic tries to sever your spine and sends you whizzing back to where you started. Repeat until the bouncing stops.
Unlike base jumping and skydiving – which let’s face it are pretty much a case of throwing yourself at the ground from a great height whilst hoping the parachute is going to do its job – zip lining is more on a par with flying as you hurtle through the air at speeds approaching 100mph. Check out this one in South Africa.
Yes you’ve guessed it – we’re putting ourselves up against gravity again. This little sport involves jumping from somewhere very high wearing a wing suit – think flying squirrel – which increases the body’s surface area gives you the ability to glide huge distances and huge speeds. Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get more relaxing, chuck out your parachute and pray for a soft landing.
