Bringing The Outdoors In

Summer is here, which should mean long days out in the garden enjoying the lovely weather. But, we live in the UK, which means lovely weather somehow seems to elude us. So why not bring a touch of the outdoors, in? Fill your house with greenery and natural materials and you’ll still be able to enjoy the best bits of summer on all those inevitable rainy days.

Bringing The Indoors Out

If luck is on our side we may still see some beautiful weather this summer – and if we do, we should be able to enjoy it in style. So flip it on its head and take a touch of the indoors, outside! Nobody likes those white plastic chairs we’re so often plagued with, so grab some stylish lounge pieces and turn your garden into an outside living room.

Brass Accessories

Gather up all your shiny metals and make way for the tarnished kid on the block, because brass is back, baby. From bold all brass designs, to outline accents on jewellery boxes – this is a trend that’s easy to work into any room.

Botanical Prints

If you’re one of those people who can never keep a plant alive, you can still embrace the nature trend with some great botanical prints. Since the announcement of Pantone’s colour of the year – Greenery – interior design trends have been heavily focused on nature, and just because you’re not blessed with a green thumb, doesn’t mean you should have to miss out.

Muted Palettes and Natural Materials

In keeping with the over-arching “nature” theme this season, and riding on the popularity of “Hygge” from winter, the hottest colour palettes are filled with neutral shades and then paired with an abundance of natural materials. Think bare wood, woven lampshades and neutral linens. With the constant advancement of technology, it can be very therapeutic to surround ourselves with “back to basic” designs.
